I thought it was high time to post a non-whiny blog for once. I’m definitely on the upswing of things. Adam will be home very soon on leave and I am counting down the days like a kid before Christmas. I even made those red and green paper rings we used to make in grade school. Okay, no I didn’t, but I could so rock the construction paper if I had some around.
Lots of life changes comin’ around the corner. I can feel ‘em. With Adam home for a couple of weeks and my upcoming Asia tour, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done before everything starts happening.
In preparation for Adam’s arrival, I bought shower gel for men. Oh yes. I did. Dial makes a men’s shower gel that is for hair AND body. As if they think men don’t need a separate shampoo/conditioner and body wash. How silly is that? They’re like, ‘Who needs shampoo? We don’t! We’re men! Let’s just put some soap in our hair, that’ll do it…’ Okay, so I bought into that. Anyway, my point is… Adam will thank me when he doesn’t smell like a gardenia blossom.
Okay. So Asia. Wow… talk about a life change! I’ll be performing in Asia for the next 7 months. It turns out that the timing for this job couldn’t have been more perfect. As Adam is boarding a flight back to Iraq, I’ll be boarding a flight to Asia. At least we’ll be on the same side of the Earth for a change, that’ll be nice.
This year has been so good to me. I reflect back through the months and am amazed at how incredibly blessed I am. I count my blessings every day. I am never owed this life and I remind myself daily never to take it for granted.
Highlights of 2007:
January and February was spent in the recording studio, where I find my purest, most complete joy.
In March I found my future husband. He is someone I never imagined for myself. I was never that girl who dreamt of her wedding day so it all came as quite a surprise… but a spectacular blessing, nonetheless.
April saw the release of my newest album and May was spent on the open road, touring internationally with two of the most gifted artists.
June held an marriage proposal and a tearful departure, shortly thereafter.
In July I finally made the move to Nashville, a city I absolutely adore.
August, September, and October was spent with more music and more writing.
In November and December I hit the road and went on tour again.
And now… here we are. Thank you all for your love and support through the hard times, when no amount of chocolate would do. Hope you all have a happy and safe holiday. See you in 2008!
