We’re 8 weeks along! Our little Eggroll should be about the size of a kidney bean, developing webbed fingers and toes that are poking out from his hands and feet.
Still symptomless, for the most part, but I have been experiencing very specific food cravings. One day it’s nachos, another day it’s fruits and vegetables. And when a craving comes on, there is no stopping it! Unfortunately, because we’re in Japan, it’s a bit challenging to find the foods to satisfy my cravings because certain things just aren’t available, or they’re different from what we’re used to. For example, I had a really strong craving for chips and salsa yesterday, so we went to a Mexican restaurant down the street from our hotel. They didn’t serve chips and salsa (what?!) nor could they point us in the right direction to buy some for ourselves. The grocery store didn’t have it, the Mexican restaurant didn’t have it… which is incredibly frustrating and disappointing for a pregnant lady! I miss Whole Foods and Publix like it’s nobody’s business!
I’ve also noticed a strange taste in my mouth, so I’m constantly brushing my teeth. Another thing I’m experiencing… a surplus of saliva! What?! Lately, I’ve been breaking out like an eleven-year-old boy (which I have not been handling well) and I think it’s partly because I wake up with drool down my chin. Gross.
Breasts are still sore and tender, but still no morning sickness, thank goodness. Also, the fatigue is really beginning to set in… I’m taking 2-3 hour naps during the day! Yikes.
