JenWoodhouse.com Plan Used: PRINTMAKER’S SIDEBOARD
About the Project:
We needed to add built-in cabinets on both side of the fireplace in our new house. But we wanted more of a farmhouse look. I downloaded your plans and then modified the frame width to fit the 62″ opening on each side of the fireplace. I kept the depth and height as drawn. I made two barn doors and mounted using mini rollers and rails from Real Craft. I kept the top front open for now; I may add drawers later. There are shelves in one unit to hold an amplifier and sound system. The other unit has one section for storing firewood, blankets and other family room necessities.
I found the plan easy to follow – especially the shopping and cut list. What a lifesaver! This was my first ever woodworking project of scale and we are very pleased with the results. Thank you for sharing your ideas!
