Hello and happy Tuesday! I’m thrilled to be sharing another one of my projects on HGTV.com! I still pinch myself every time I see my work over there. If you’re short on cabinet or drawer space in your kitchen, this wall-mounted oversized pegboard shelf is a clever and stylish solution. It’s renter-friendly too!

I love this design. I also live in earthquake country. My concern is that those shelves can fly off of the pegs during a tremor. I thought of using half rounds that would still wedge into the peg holes, instead of full dowels, then gluing/screwing the boards to the flat side of the half round for stability. Do you have any other suggestions for stability? Thanks very much.

A more versatile option, that preserves the adjustability of a pegboard organizer, use a half-router bit, matching the center-to-center spacing of the dowels, on the underside of the shelves. This adds quite a bit of stability, maintains the modularity, and looks great.
