JenWoodhouse.com Plan Used: Pergola Hammock Stand
About the Project:
We had a bunch of ash trees in our back yard. 2 of them were the perfect distance across for a hammock. So we kept them tall, but eventually they rotted. We had to cut them down this summer. So I was looking for inspiration for a hammock stand, and found your plans. We had a friend’s son Sam build it. He is a senior in High school and does handy man work for our business. The stand ended up being 13′ wide and 11′ tall. We stained it the same color as our deck, and used the hardware too. It is at the side of our deck and also holds our party lights. You can see our woods and the creek in the picture. This was the perfect location. We are thrilled with the outcome and plan to use this for years to come.
