We’re 10 weeks along! Our little Eggroll should be about the size of a prune and has completed the most critical portion of his/her development. Vital organs are in place and are beginning to function, though they’ve still got quite a lot of developing to do.
Lately, I’ve been feeling completely normal and it’s worrying me a little. I haven’t been experiencing any symptoms except a little bloat belly and a couple of mild mood swings. I almost forget that I’m pregnant!
Adam and I broke the news to a couple of my bosses a few nights ago. They were ecstatic. They congratulated us, then laughed and said our little Eggroll was “made in Japan.” Because of my unique working situation, telling the bosses wasn’t a problem. I’ve only got 3 weeks left on my 3-month contract, so they won’t have to worry about my pregnancy interfering with my performance, or the fact that I’ll have to take maternity leave in the future. I’ll be long gone before all of that. In truth, I could have just completed my contract and kept it all under wraps, and they would have been none the wiser. But we couldn’t resist sharing our good news with them.
Speaking of breaking the news, we are so excited to tell our families, and I’ve been dreaming up clever ways to spill the beans. Adam wants to create a photo album of all our Japan photos, and at the end, tack on our sonogram. How about you guys? When and how did you creatively break the news?
