Adam and I have been using the new DeWalt Cordless Brushless Worm Drive Style Circular Saw for a few months now and we are so in love with it. It’s heavy duty, powerful, and surprisingly easy to maneuver despite its hefty weight. The weight actually makes it easier to manage – I’m able to use its weight to my advantage to power the saw along. I really am impressed with how easy it is for me to control!
The blade is on the left of the motor and the handle is positioned behind the saw, which makes is super easy to handle and control, and it provides a clear line of sight when cutting.
One of the most impressive features of this saw is the electronic brake that stops the blade on a dime once you release the trigger. You don’t have to wait for the blade to stop spinning, which is an excellent safety feature!
Diablo 7-1/4 in. x 24-Teeth Tracking Point Framing Saw Blade, 100008676
Of course, paired with the Diablo framing saw blade, this saw is hardcore. All of the blades in my shop are Diablo brand because they’ve proven to be far superior than any other blades that I’ve tried. This blade has a cutting life that is five times longer than standard blades and can cut through nail-embedded wood with ease.
We first installed the blade backwards because we assumed that the Diablo branding would be visible on the saw. It isn’t, which is kind of sad. So, FYI… when you install this blade on this saw, the text faces towards the right and the branding is hidden by the motor.
We do find that this saw makes a TON of sawdust – more than what I’m used to with other cordless circular saws, but the sawdust is directed downward and out of the way. Still, there’s a lot of sawdust swirling around, so don’t be like me in the photo above – use a dust mask and spare your precious lungs.
This is the saw that Adam and I both reach for the most because it’s fast to set up, cordless yet ridiculously powerful, and easy to control. Paired with the Diablo blade, they make a formidable pair.
