Hello and happy Friday, friends! I hope your week was wonderful. Are you building anything fun this weekend? How about this rustic, chunky X media console? I teamed up with Ashlee Lindstrom to bring you the plans for this hefty piece! Ashlee is the owner of Cottage Country Corner, a handcrafted furniture and home decor store based out of Utah. She builds such beautiful pieces – I’m absolutely drooling over her gorgeous balustrade coffee table and her adorable entryway bench. I’m so excited Ashlee asked me to draw up the plans for her chunky X media console. We just love how it turned out!

What stain did you use on the wood?
I just received the plans but they are for the Ashley bench. I am looking for the Chunky Media Console, my husband and I want to try making one.
Can you explain how you cut your X’s. I’m having a hard time a hard time and can’t get them right. Thank you

I absolutely love this media console. I was wondering how I would change the plan if I wanted the console to be longer since the wall I’ll be placing it is big. I was thinking about 7 feet long. Thank you! You’re awesome.

Hi Connie,
You’ll want to extend all the horizontal pieces (top, rails, shelves, etc.) to whatever length you’d like. You may need to add additional support to minimize the risk of sagging though. Hope that helps – good luck!
