It’s strange seeing pumpkin spice everything hit the shelves when it’s still 99º outside, but I am defiantly celebrating the reluctant coming of autumn regardless of reality. Because that’s all it takes these days, right? The way we FEEL must become everyone’s reality. (Nevermind actual reality.)
It will be autumn by my sheer force of will because… I have pumpkins! And I made this cute burlap acorn garland! Let us embrace the madness! Outside it’s still summer, but in here, it’s autumn.
We have never used this fireplace in the 2 years we’ve lived here.
That is all.
Okay then. Let’s make a DIY acorn garland!
How to make a DIY Acorn Garland
Supplies:
- Wooden beads, various sizes
- Burlap acorns (purchased from JOANN)
- Jute twine
- Cordless drill with a 7/32″ drill bit
- Clamp
- Hot glue gun (optional)
Let the record show: this is the easiest craft project in the history of ever. Some of the beads didn’t have holes to string the twine through, so I used my drill to drill the holes. I used a clamp to hold the bead securely while drilling. That’s the hardest part of this project. Seriously.
I love these Husky clamps – they’re great for small crafts and DIY projects, they’re quick and easy to use, and at $12 for a set of four (with a lifetime warranty!), they’re a fantastic deal! I definitely recommend having a set in your toolbox.
After figuring out a pattern, I strung the beads on the twine along with the burlap acorns. Because I wanted some space between each grouping, I added a small dab of hot glue to the end beads to hold them in place. If you don’t want any space between each grouping, simply string the beads until they fill up the twine. Easiest craft project ever, right? A toddler can do this. In fact, I’m pretty sure this was one of the sensory activities I gave my kids when they were little. #childlabor
Pin it for later!

So adorable! I can’t believe you went and bought all the acorns at my Joann’s. Just kidding but the bin at my store was clear out!! I guess I might need to buy them online?? Because they are so cute!
